Gilead Keydar was born in 1959 on Kibbutz Ma’abarot and currently lives and creates in Tel Aviv. From 1990 to 1992, Keydar studied at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, majoring in Fine Arts. His work has been featured in prominent solo exhibitions, including at Yair Art Gallery (2018, 2013, 2010), Gordon Gallery (2014, 2013), and Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art (2005). Keydar’s early exhibitions date back to the late 1990s, with shows at galleries such as Tal Esther Gallery (2001) and Kibbutz Lohamei HaGetaot Gallery (1998). Keydar has participated in numerous group exhibitions, such as “To Hear Again” at Almacen Gallery, Jaffa (2019), “Time Burden” at Jerusalem Artists’ House (2018), and several exhibitions at Tel Aviv Museum of Art and Israel Museum. In 1996, he received the Ministry of Education and Culture Prize for the Encouragement of Creativity.
