Mintz has created pieces in the public sphere and has exhibited her work in different art venues and events in numerous cities around the world, including New York, Miami, Montreal, London, Paris, Prague, Vienna, Berlin and more.
As partners in life and practice, we find inspiration in the vibrant pulse and constant flux of urban environments. Our artworks — installations, site-specific projects, assemblage, collage, painting, and visual poetry — are inspired by themes of post-trauma, childhood, and decay. We are interested in discovering and representing the moments in which private experiences manifest in public, seeping into civic mechanisms. People occupying public spaces are often the audience we strive to reach and empower. Be it individuals we cross paths with or communities at large, we see our practice as a channel of communication which follows the messages and insights that we ourselves receive as we immerse ourselves in different communities. By activating neglected areas, we hope to convey complex messages and evoke multi-dimensional interactions with otherwise overlooked places. Nitzan’s text provides a visual dimension to language, deepening perception of her poems while mining a deep well of primal and fundamental human associations. At the same time, she probes specific and personal emotions. Dede provides poignant messages related to the specific history of a site or format of an artwork. He often chooses to confront social questions, addressing inequities and injustices. By bridging the social agenda and the pictorial planes he uses, Dede leverages the public space to disrupt its monotonous pace. By combining distinct approaches, we present a rich tapestry of observations and reflections on mental processes and spatial dynamics. Ultimately, our goal is to spark dialogue and foster connections through our shared exploration of the human experience within the urban landscape.
